Store-agnostic setup
A website advisor without Shopify or WooCommerce
Many ‘website chatbots’ are Shopify or WooCommerce apps. If that is not your stack, you are off the list. SiteConsul does not pick a store: it reads your public address.
This guide is for teams who want an advisor on a custom CMS, static site or without a store plugin.
Why an app store leaves you out
Shopify and Woo plugins lean on cart, theme and app hooks. A custom Next.js storefront, an enterprise CMS or a static catalog does not have those hooks. The project becomes an imitation of a store you do not run.
The need is often not the cart. It is finding the right page. You can solve that without an app store.
Which sites are enough?
Public sites that publish products or services as HTML — and, if possible, mark price and stock with schema.org — are enough. The cart can live elsewhere; the advisor still speaks from the page.
Login-only B2B portals, in-app catalogs and thin client-side shells are weak candidates. Check robots and sitemap on /start first.
How embedding works
The advisor is added with an embed key, including on the free plan. The key is pinned to your domain and can be revoked. Free stays branded, with one scan a month and no live price or stock tracking.
No theme plugin or store app is required. The snippet we give you is enough.
Checkout stays yours
SiteConsul does not take orders, open a payment form or ask for a card. Purchase stays in your existing flow. The advisor’s job is to take the visitor to the right product or service page with a source.
That split helps if you already have a custom quote or payment path. You do not wait for the chatbot to own checkout.
Starting without a store app on SiteConsul
Enter your address, see the page estimate and robots result, then ask questions in the playground. Your stack can be Shopify, Woo, a custom CMS or plain HTML.
You do not have to connect a catalog. Published pages are the start.
Frequently asked questions
Before you decide
Can I add a chatbot without Shopify?
Yes, if the advisor reads your public pages. SiteConsul is not a Shopify app.
Do I need a WooCommerce plugin?
No. If you use Woo, the pages are still read as HTML. A plugin is not required.
Does a static site work?
Yes, if product and service information lives in fetchable HTML.
Try it on your own website.
Add your site, test real customer questions in a private playground, and review the supporting sources.
